So you think you can "Adult"?

Image result for adulting meme

I honestly feel like such a fake adult, like I have a child but I still feel like a child. I hate having to attempt to adult and I don't know what I'm doing at least 90% of the time. I'm just making it up and doing the best I can, but in reality that's what "adulting" is about. Apart form the obvious responsibilities you have as an adult, you never really know what your doing until your doing it. I never knew how to be someone's mum despite looking after my siblings until I was a mum, I never even knew what I wanted to be until the beginning of this year, after almost two degrees. As I write this post I'm getting ready to turn 23 and unlike most of my age mates the last thing I want to do is celebrate in a club, I just want to sleep! Netflix is my life now and I'm okay with that! It's okay to adult a little different to everyone else, as long as you get there in the end. I guess this post is just to remind myself and everyone else that being an adult is hard, but it's not impossible. It may feel like everything in the world is crumbling but you got this! (Or at least I think I do...)

Keep on adulting everyone you're doing a fabulous job!

So you think you can "Doctor" ?

Life has a crazy way of leading us to where we need to be eventually. I am almost two degree's down and a whole bunch of other qualifications deep, but I have finally decided where I want to be!

I wanna be a doctor.

I wanna help people and make a difference in the world. I've always been interested in the health-care sector but felt because I hadn't stuck to sciences from the jump I wouldn't be able to do it. Thankfully there's more options once you have a degree and I'm able to hopefully get on to a medicine course via graduate entry however as I'm wanting to increase my chances I'm enrolling on an access course starting this September which I'm super excited for.

Either way I'm determined to get onto my medical course come September 2019 fingers crossed! Wish me luck cause along side having to write my dissertation I have to revise for the UKCAT and the GAMSAT which are both entrance style exams I need to nail before I can even complete my UCAS statement. It's a long process but one that I'm so ready for!

So you think you can "Vegan"?

So I recently decided I wanted to try going Vegan to help aid my weight loss, I've been doing slimming world and so far so good however due to some emotional eating I have gained a little. I've really considered Veganism not on ethical reasoning but the health benefits it can bring. I was never a huge meat eater but the way I felt after eating a chicken burger or a steak would sometimes make me so nauseous. I figured what's the harm in trying to cut animal derived products out all together. At the moment I rarely have milk as I used milk alternatives at home and when available eating out. Cutting out milk was mainly down to my daughters intolerance when we were breastfeeding, however I noticed after she quit I became very sensitive to dairy so had to watch my own intake of milk.

some of my new goodies to try!

So to help aid my steps to becoming vegan I thought I'd try to cut out things one by one and find alternatives slowly, instead of cutting everything and not having any idea how to replace the key nutrients I'll be missing from my lack of animal based products. I did a quick veggie based shop and was surprised by the wide range supermarkets hold. I took a trip to my local Tesco and bought some meat free burgers and sausages as well as "chicken kievs". To get my sweet treat fix I bought some Alpro desserts and dairy free chocolate from Holland and Barrets. Overall I'm really excited to start my first vegan-ish week and hopefully feel better. If anyone has any cool recipes to try feel free to leave them below and wish me luck!
