So I recently decided I wanted to try going Vegan to help aid my weight loss, I've been doing slimming world and so far so good however due to some emotional eating I have gained a little. I've really considered Veganism not on ethical reasoning but the health benefits it can bring. I was never a huge meat eater but the way I felt after eating a chicken burger or a steak would sometimes make me so nauseous. I figured what's the harm in trying to cut animal derived products out all together. At the moment I rarely have milk as I used milk alternatives at home and when available eating out. Cutting out milk was mainly down to my daughters intolerance when we were breastfeeding, however I noticed after she quit I became very sensitive to dairy so had to watch my own intake of milk.

So to help aid my steps to becoming vegan I thought I'd try to cut out things one by one and find alternatives slowly, instead of cutting everything and not having any idea how to replace the key nutrients I'll be missing from my lack of animal based products. I did a quick veggie based shop and was surprised by the wide range supermarkets hold. I took a trip to my local Tesco and bought some meat free burgers and sausages as well as "chicken kievs". To get my sweet treat fix I bought some Alpro desserts and dairy free chocolate from Holland and Barrets. Overall I'm really excited to start my first vegan-ish week and hopefully feel better. If anyone has any cool recipes to try feel free to leave them below and wish me luck!
